Play Therapy
Play therapy offers children the opportunity to explore their thoughts and feelings through play in a consistent, safe environment. The presence of a qualified therapist allows the child to express themselves freely.
Through play therapy, it is hoped that the child will process their thoughts and feelings to enable them to regulate their emotions and be in a place where they can manage and enjoy everyday life.
Who can it help?
Play therapy is able to help children with a range of presenting difficulties. These may include:
-
Anxiety and stress
-
Relationship difficulties e.g. peers
-
Struggling with everyday school life
-
Neurodiversity such as ASD and ADHD
-
Attachment difficulties
-
Traumatic experiences such as divorce and bereavement
These are just some of the conditions for which play therapy can help. For more information, follow the following link What Is Play Therapy? - Play Therapy UK
Play therapy sessions usually take place on a school site and an appropriate room or space will need to be available at the same time every week.
